Over the last decade the future of the Powerhouse has been rolled by a political dice. Many years of community campaigning has kept keep this local gem alive.
That is why it so disappointing that the new Labor minority government is going ahead with the former government's controversial $500 million redevelopment plans next month - despite strong community concerns about demolishing state-significant sites, a dodgy heritage assessment process and the risk of damaging artefacts in the rebuild.
